The Spring issue of SONDHEIM the Magazine will be sent to members shortly.

In this issue Jeremy Chapman reminds us of the dozens of school productions up and down the country and of the pioneering teachers who are introducing children to the delights and intricacies of Sondheim at an early age. There are reviews of a number of production at schools and colleges up and down the country including David Lardi’s review of Saturday Night at RADA (which starred the current SSSSPOTY winner Taron Egerton and was one of several Society trips arranged by Lynne Chapman).

David Lardi has taken his review of Saturday Night as a springboard to put together a ‘history’ of the development of Saturday Night taken largely from the pages of this Magazine. Thanks must also go to Daria Begley as much of this information is gleaned from her regular contribution.

The Society trip to Company in Sheffield is covered by Craig Glenday and includes the Question and Answer session for members given after the performance by Daniel Evans.

The next edition of the Magazine will cover, amongst other things, the Student Performer of the Year Competition on 27th May at the Queen’s Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue (closing date for contributions 8th June) and the edition following that will be celebrating the original 1987 London production of Follies. If you have any memories, memorabilia, or anything else which you think would be interesting in this context please contact me (closing date for contributions 17th August).

I am also very pleased to consider other items for publication including reviews, articles, photographs, letters to the Editor or other material you think might be of interest.
